Student Insurance

For graduate and international students, the insurance requirement must be met before tuition can be paid.

Michigan Tech requires all international and graduate students hold comprehensive health insurance. Unexpected health care

expenses such as those associated with unexpected illness, accidents, or mental health can destabilize a student’s financial situation

 and derail his/her progress toward a degree. These potential barriers to attendance and degree completion are reduced when

students have health insurance. U.S. citizens are required by law to hold health insurance.

Benefit Services facilitates the Michigan Tech student health insurance plan and processes insurance waiver requests for all students
